Our Story
Sonic Audio Visual arose out of the passion of Richard Edwards’ for excellence in sound solutions. Originally based out of MARS Music Cape Town we have a 20 year history of providing solutions to numerous venues and businesses around the Western Cape. In 2019 the business grew to the point that we created a dedicated division for the installation business, which was the start of Sonic Audio Visual. With full time dedicated staff and partnerships with expert consultants we are able to offer unparalleled support to our customers.
Meet the Team
Richard Edwards
Founder & CEO
Richard has 25 years experience in the South African music industry. A qualified doctor he played in bands during medical school and left medicine to start Mars Music in 2005, along with friend and band mate Mike Vaughan. His passion for the technical side of creating music has lead him to be a successful mix engineer and head up the installation side of the business. He also heads up Rockit Distribution.
Mitchell Doye, Elvin Marais and Patrick Visser
Sound Technicians
Our three technicians have all got diplomas in sound engineering. Mitchell and Elvin each have over 10 years experience. Mitchell has also spent time in Dubai handling installations there. Patrick is the newest member of the team.
Andre Nieuwstadt - independent consultant
Sound and Acoustic consultant
Andre has extensive experience in the industry. He is a qualified electrical engineer with a passion for sound system design and acoustics. We work extensively with Andre to provide advanced acoustic modelling and system design solutions. more info at https://nieuw.co/
